RDS Cuts – Red Dot Sight Cuts / Optic Cut
*Work to be completed on customer’s supplied H&K VP9 & VP40 slide to allow for the direct mounting of a RDS (Red Dot Sight / Optic) of your choice. This allows you to mount the optic directly to the slide WITHOUT the need or use of a plate. We machine the slide to the perfect depth providing a deeper purchase of the optic within the slide itself, giving you a more solid and secure mounting option. This allows you to use our RDS Back-up sights for that perfect lower third witness, less busy sight picture.
We recommend Black Nitriding of the slide or Cerakote if you prefer a color due to the amount of material removed by the machining process.
This way you don’t have bare metal exposed under the optic. This is NOT NECESSARY its is a personnel preference. This can vary from optic & firearm model according to the size of both.Black Nitride provides a deep black finish that is extremely hard and durable even more so than most factory black finishes but looks very similar as pictured.
